* Dec. 15, 1903: The Wright Brothers try to launch their plane at Kitty Hawk. Young Sully Sullenberger safely lands in the Atlantic.
* Dec. 16, 1497: Vasco de Gama rounds the Cape of Good Hope. Sees sign: “You’re always a weiner at Pedro’s!”
* Dec. 17, 1790: Ancient Aztec calendar discovered with pictographs of busty human sacrifice models posing for each month.
* Dec. 18, 1943: Stones guitarist Keith Richards born. First words: “Eh, wah tem neddles, man? Know wah sayin’, yeah? Yeah, man. Fellin’.”
